The United Nations Climate Change Conferences are yearly conferences held in the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). They serve as the formal meeting of the UNFCCC parties (Conference of the Parties or “COP”) to assess progress in dealing with climate change.

COP is the foremost gathering of climate change leaders, experts and influencers in the world, welcoming tens of thousands of delegates and more then 190 participating countries on an annual basis.

COP23, COP24, COP25

In 2017 (COP23), orientations.events (OE) managed the commercial Services on behalf of the official Contractor Vagedes & Schmid including coordination with suppliers, delegation management, client liaison, venue coordination, AV services and more …

In 2018 (COP24) and 2019 (COP25), orientations.events delivered a complete suite of delegation services, including pavilion design, pavilion build, branding, catering, staffing, AV services, transfers and more...

COP26

For COP26, orientations.events was the designated exclusive provider for delegation services, appointed by the UK government.

In this role OE was responsible for the technical planning, design & implementation of over 10,000 sqm pavilion space, over 5,000 sqm delegation offices, management of space rental on behalf of the UK government, as well as the exclusive provision of delegation services to over 130 delegations including management and delivery of delegation offices, design and build for more than 75 country pavilions, commercial services, live streaming and other essential services for participating delegations.

With over 38,000 registered participants, 196 participating countries, more than 10,000 sqm pavilion space and 5,000 sqm delegation offices.

COP28

OE’s experience in the event industry and specific COP expertise was invaluable for COP28.

With a small but very experienced team, OE managed the live event Operations for the 5 exhibition Hubs in the Green Zone, with a total are of more than 70.000sqm with 7.000sqm of exhibition and daily themed events, the Green Zone received more than 100.000 visitors throughout the 12 days of the conference.

The Green Zone hubs hosted more than 220 side events that allowed the private sector showcase the projects related to climate finance, sustainability, energy, green technology and more.

COP29

For COP29, orientations.events was the designated exclusive provider for delegation services, appointed by the Government of Azerbaijan.

In this role OE was responsible for the technical planning, design & implementation of an overall adaptation of the venue to house the delegation offices. OE was also in charge of the implementation of over 18,000 sqm pavilion space, over 7,000 sqm delegation offices, management of space rental on behalf of the Government of Azerbaijan, as well as the exclusive provision of delegation services to over 200 delegations including management and delivery of delegation offices, design and build for more than 155 pavilions, commercial services, live streaming and other essential services for participating delegations

With over 75,000 registered participants, 196 participating countries, more than 18,000 sqm pavilion space and 7,000 sqm delegation offices, COP29 was one of the biggest editions to date.
